For 18 months now, I've been hosting weekly, one-hour Facebook Alive sessions on the Stonemaier Games FB page. It'due south my preferred method of live video. However, non everyone wants to sentinel videos on Facebook (alive or otherwise). Plus, in that location'southward an element of permanent discoverability on YouTube that Facebook only doesn't replicate (it'due south why I'll only send review copies of games to livecasters if they also mail service the video on YouTube).

I previously tried to transfer a FB live video to my YouTube channel, only I was unsuccessful. Simply at present, thanks to Dusty at The Manufactory, I know how to download a Facebook Live video (and so upload it to YouTube–that'southward the easy function). It doesn't result in a loftier-definition video, but that's fine–information technology actually makes the whole procedure a lot faster, as the video isn't too big.

Hither are Dusty's instructions on how to get your Facebook Live video onto YouTube (with some edits past me):

one. Open Chrome spider web browser (I'm guessing in that location'south a mode to do the following on other browsers, but some of the commands may be different on them)

2. Get to your Facebook folio.

3. Click Videos on the left sidebar.

4. Click the weekly livecast that you want to download.

5. In the browser toolbar, change the world wide web. to m. (Yous should at present exist in mobile view.)

vi. Printing Ctrl+Shift+C. (This opens web developer tools.)

7. Click on the video itself. When you mouse over information technology, you should notice that it turns blue.

8. In the lawmaking gibberish on the correct mitt side, you should discover that you're now seeing the content of a <video> tag. In that <video> tag you're going to meet a line that says src=https://scontent… etc. etc. Right click on that scontent src link and select open in a new tab (or copy and paste).

ix. The video will at present open in a new tab, but you'll see three dots vertically aligned on the video in the bottom correct hand corner. If you click it, one of the options will exist 'download'.

ten. After the download is complete, y'all can upload the video to YouTube equally y'all ordinarily practise.
